View Full Version : Help! Numbness?
I posted last week about an injury I'd sustained while Jeqling... a rather large purple spot. The spot stayed the same for a couple of days, then healed up quickly.
I'm left with some numbness and reduced sensitivity on the penis head that has persisted for about a week. Has anyone ever experienced numbness? If so, how long did it take to subside?
I'd really appreciate any support or insight. I'm getting worried, and thinking about seeing a urologist.
Thanks!
Honestly clueless, as I have not experienced this, but maybe you should go to the "P.E. links" section and have a look at the "penis physiology" link. It's actually a Vivus erectile dysfunction page but it has incredibly good diagrams of various type on penis anatomy. I say this because you mention numbness and the diagrams do depict where the nerves are at in the penis (dorsal nerve?) and you may benefit from comparing this to your injury. Possible vein swelling over a nerve? Nerve damage and where? I have no idea on this, but perhaps this may in some small way help you gain more understanding of your problem. Good luck. groaboa628
Hi! I appreciate your response (support), and the information. I'll have a look now.
I spoke recently to a friend who'd had some nerve damage (not on his penis) when having a body piercing done. He said it took about 4 months for the numbness to go away, so I have hope.
Everything functions normally, but there's markedly reduced sensitivity to the head.
If there's no improvement by Monday, I'm going to give up on short-term healing and have my doctor refer me to a urologist. I'll post the results here in case anyone is interested or someone searches for information on this type of injury in the future.

As far as I know there are no Dr's on this board..we can offer advise only if we've had a similiar occurrence or know a reliable souce of information. If you're troubled by your numbness by all means see a doctor ;-/

Mild heat wraps and very light jelqing have helped others in the past.

Growing3 probably has an an idea there-and it's time tested just about everywhere else on the body. Although we extoll the virtues of hot wrappig before P.E., I seldom hear anyone talk about the benefits of hot wrapping inbetween P.E. sessions or on days off. It's seems pluasible that this could enhance healing, improve circulation, and possibly "flush" the penis of swelling and other by-products of P.E. (if theres damage and healing, there's metabolic by-products) at least to a certain degree. Although it's very uncomfortable with respect to the genitalia and I've only tried it on a few occasions, alternating heat and cold wraps might actually serve to enhance the healing process further. Alternating hot and cool baths is often recomended for many ailments especally overuse injuries that are common in factories, usually called repetitive stress syndrome and I can say from personnel experience that they are effective. Admittedly, the penis type "overuse" injuries are probably different physiologically, but one can surmise the same principle may well apply-circulate and get any fluid pressure/build-up and swelling down, and healing is greatly accelerated. Works wonders for the discomfort and numbness type feelings asoociated with the non-penis type injuries, so perhaps it will also do the same for the penis. groaboa628
