Hi,
While considering the discrepancy between bone and non-bone pressed measurements by some but not all of the participants of this forum I have developed a possible explanation.
Although it is true that there is a layer of fat between the pubic bone and the skin, I don't believe this solely accounts for the discrepancy based on Dance’s obvious intelligence.
I believe that some people are actually pressing the ruler not against their pubic bone but underneath it.
I measured my penis this morning and realized that if I pressed hard enough I could wedge the ruler between the top of my penis and the bottom of my pubic bone. I achieved an extra 1/2-inch this way.
It appears as if my ligament has a lot of slack and/or elasticity.
I propose that those like Dance who have not achieved nbp gains already had a ligament with sufficient elasticity or slack such that no further stretching could release any more of the penis from the body but will allow wedging of the ruler between the pubic bone and the penis as the ligament becomes even longer and/or elastic.
If the stretching and/or increasing in the elasticity of the ligament is what leads to longer length then those who get results might be starting with a ligament that is short and or relatively non elastic. I suspect their penises are held close to their bodies and prior to PE they probably have difficulty pressing a full erection into a horizontal position. I apparently have elastic or long ligament and I have no difficulty in pressing my penis into a horizontal position.
I was hesitant in writing this because I don't want to discourage anyone if I am wrong. If I am correct then people who want more length and have an easy time pressing their fully erect penis into a horizontal position might better spend their time and energy on girth or some new means of achieving length.

Not directly on topic but, it seems to me that if you can stretch the suspensory ligaments to gain length, given the toughness of ligaments, surely you can stretch the fibrous septum between the two corpus cavernosas that limits the length of the external penis.

When I stretch my flacid penis outward and I feel the ligaments at the base they feel very thick. If they can elongate, anything is possible!

I noticed the same thing about being able to wedge the ruler under the bone. Sine then, I always use a regular 12 inch wooden ruler and turn it on edge so that it doesn't fit under the bone. I get much better measurements that way.

Hi titanium,
If you are correct in that the fibrous septum between the two corpus cavernosas stretches and/or is made more elastic then we might be on the verge of a decent characterization of a lengthening process.
Perhaps the suspendsatorysuspensory ligament is more easily stretched and/or made more elastic than the fibrous septum between the two corpus cavernosas. This would explain the results of those who claim bp gains before nbp gains. There is still the problem of figuring out how blood vessels and nerve adjust to the added length, but maybe this is not big problem. We know from the priapism paper under my "Penis Enlargement Research" post that the diameter of the penis can be significantly enlarged while penis function in term of blood vessels is maintained and this has to require adjustment is some way, perhaps they have significant slack or can be stimulated to lengthen.
An understanding of the sequence of events might lead to more efficient workouts and faster gains.

Hi Shiatain,
Have you had nbp gains?

No I haven't had any gains nbp. While I have gained in length bp, I have put on a few pounds recently which probably cost me a little nbp.

Penismith, I don't know if you've already looked at the links section, in particular the "penis physiology" link by sheepophile, but if not you may want to. I too share an interest in the physiology of the penis with respect to P.E. and have pondered some of these same questions. The nervous and vascular change necessary with respect to length increase (base to tip) really gets me curious. According to the (Vivus) link mentioned above, there is vascular tissue that enters and exit through the tunica albuginea (both layers by definition) and it does seem that even if these layers of the tunica both are stretched or elongated, it might have a pinching or shearing effect on the vasular tissue. The only possibility I can think of is with respect to the diagrams v/s true anatomical features-even the best are presented in simple form for readibility. In reality, the vascular tissue is probably a great deal longer and in "squiggly" form even at full erection. This could give it more potential to accomodate shaft length increases. I say this wholly from a laymens logic and a jelqers optimism as I have no way of knowing for sure, but the significant change from flaccid to erect seems indicative of the great potential of the nervous and vascular tissue to "travel" along with gains. Just how much and what the stress limit is on where vascular tissue branches off and passes through membranes is a tough question. Anyhow, check the link if you haven't-aside from the detailed digrams there is some really ineresting descriptions about just what has to happen for erection to occur...it can kinda change the way a guy thinks about P.E. in some ways. It makes me think about experimenting beyond jelqing type movements and trying to gain size by gradually increasing and trapping more blood than in a normal erection (by P.C. and grip), possibly stretching in that "super-erect" state. IOW's, to try to "mimic" a larger than normal erection by technique several times/sessions per day may eventually coax penis to naturally take on that size, based on P.E. approach that is closest to natural process of erection. If enlargement is possible this way, it seems likely it would be less stress on penis-it seems to for me, but i just began with this (possibly mind-fucked) approach/experiment and it's really too early to tell. Thanx for making me through this again. groaboa628

Penismith:

Personally, my ligs are so tough, i cannot get the ruler to significantly "go under" them. I can feel the bands as i press down and they are very thick. Tried hanging and worked up to 13 lbs. The result is they got thicker and tougher in response to that stress, so i stopped. So in my case "bone-pressed" is up against the ligs. I just jelq now and really don't expect any real gains from advancing my "internal penis".

Any to get back on topic, here is a link that has a drawing that shows the penis "suspension system" in unusual detail. It even has a real life photo showing the topmost ligs exposed just before a lengthening surgery is performed and a real penis cross section clearly showing the tunica (be warned, they are graphic). Hope you and others find it informative.
