View Full Version : Women and "average"
Recently had a conversation with a couple of women about penis size. This goes back to either the fact they don't have a sense of measurement or they're programmed by hype about cock size. When one answered the question of what average was, she replied 6" - 7". The other discussed "medium" as being
7 1/2" while her thought of avarage was 6". Gotta say it kind of pissed me off. How many other women think this way and it's no wonder so many of us feel small and ashamed. Damn it!
I'm done venting, I think.
Carl,
you're a sensitive soul, but your female friends probably aren't as tactful as you are.
"If we have a ding instead of a dong we must learn to live with it", I remember this quote from an article on PE. Of course, I never agreed with that issue.
Do PE for yourself in first place and believe in your efforts, and don't care about them and what they say!
All the best,

Well did you explain to them the surveys or just let them continue in their belief? Try this next time. Take a piece of paper and mark off 7 inches, or in the case of your friend 7 1/2, and then say, "this is what you think is medium? I happen to know how to measure without a ruler using my fingers (if I bend my forefinger it is exactly 2 inches) so maybe you can do the same if there is no ruler around. Mark off length and about an inch and a half girth. When they see the length like that I think they will see they are overestimating.
We must understand that very few, if any, women are as focused on measurments of the male penis. While they are certainly interested parties, they normally have no idea about the real size of a particular penis unless they have actually measured. Therefore, when they say that 6" or 8" is average, they have no idea what they are talking about and if they saw an 8" penis they would think that it is quite large. Don't worry about ill informed statements and keep your focus.
Carl,
You might be wondering why it is that women are incapable of estimating size, and the answer is very simple but not much known....
In the left hemisphere of the brain we men have a centre that deals with 'estimating distances'. Without this centre it would have been very hard for our ancestors to hunt in an effective way. On that same spot women have a centre that deals with 'words'.
In the right hemishere both women and men share a centre that deals with 'words' as well. So what this means is that whereas women out do us men when it comes to 'communicating' verbally, they have two centres that deal with words while we only got one, they are quit incapable when it comes to estimating size because they simply have no centre in that lovely brain of theirs needed to process the visual data they are getting and simply end up saying inanities like: "Must have been at least nine inches, if not nine and a half!!!! I swear!!!!"
The next time your alone with one of your female friends and she tells you the average length is seven inches simply ask her if she'd be willing to do a little empirical research to see how good she is when it comes to 'estimating size'. Whip out your woody and ask her to estimate its size, chances are she'll overestimate by at least 1,5 inches.
Thanks for all your comments. When I posted I guess I was a little on edge. I did mention to one of these ladies the real average, or at least the average we've recently been talking about - 5 1/4" by the doctors in California. The comment 6" - 7" actually came from a nurse, so this is almost proof that their measuring ability visually sucks (right brain indeed!). I sure agree women can't visualise measurments correctly, but what angers me is the incorrect perception by most women AND men of average size. As another thread quite sometime ago pointed out, even advertising uses inuendoes, sp?, to hype size of this or that. It keeps us all thinking about whatever inadequacies we think we have. Thanks again for the encouraging words and I'm still keeping up my quest for a bigger dick.
The answer to all this is simple, guys. Most girls do not know what 6 inches looks like. If you show them a ruler and mark off 8 inches, they think that would be a huge dick. But if you SAY 8 inches, it doesn't sound big to them -- mostly because of all the jokes and talk about this or that guy's "10-incher", etc. So the fact is that it doesn't matter if girls think 7 inches is average, because visually, it means 5 inches to them!

Which goes back to the thing about never actually telling a woman your measurements! They won't be impressed if you say you're 7 inches but will likely be impressed if they see it instead. Let them see it for themselves or give them something of similar size as a reference since they have no concept of numerical measurement.

You are 100% right on mark. And it's so universal and predictable that it is almost laughable. I honestly think women don't WANT to really know, just content to muck around in vague images shrouded in personal awe and mystery. It's probably related to womens' propensity toward being "emotional" and "feeling" people rather than "physical" sorts. To them, proper measurement is akin to advanced calculus, that ruins the "mood." So they make numbers up and exaggerate and all the rest do too, and they feel good about their lovers, but it's really amazing how much they will overestimate every time. My GF witnessed such a converstation at her job, where a five inch ruler was used as a reference point. No one really knew what they were talking about.
One thing I do know is that women often estimate, as you say 1.5 inches or proabably even more, because they somehow tend to visualize the penis at the "side" where it attaches to the body, and that is quite a bit longer for most guys, especially thin guys. I dunno where it came from but a lot of early porn films (John Holmes, e.g.) shows a woman taping a guy that way.

My GF always sees my dick from the under side during BJ's, it looks a lot longer from that angle, she thinks it's huge (I'll ask her to estimate in inches and see what she says, next BJ). I also had a girl say it's the biggest one she's ever seen. I'm at 6.75" EBP. LOL. Gotta love em...
Growing
I got to agree, they couldn't correctly identitfy 6-7" if their lives depend on it. Tell them to draw two dots on a paper 6" apart and see what she comes up with. Then tell them that makes your dick 10" using her version of the new math, LOL!!!!!
This is probably true about how women misjudge length, I honestly haven't gone into it with any of my girlfriends so I don't have personal experience. But the thing about the nurse saying average is 6-7 inches doesn't seem too far off. I mean you always read about this "average" but I mean that takes into account ALL guys. Let's say you are a good looking, masculine guy that's 6'2" . I know that technically there isn't supposed to be much correlation between height and size, but I would bet that 99% of guys that are 6'2" have bigger dicks than a 5'5" Asian guy...(no offense). So in any case, my point is that let's say the nurse is a good looking chick and has mostly gone out with bigger, good looking guys (alpha male types), it's not out of the question at all that the average she has been with was 6-7 inches. She may not be reading all of the studies, but her personal experience may be very accurate...
on another little side note: I think the average male height is supposedly something like 5'9" or something. But I'm 5'11" and to tell you the truth, I feel small! If I go to a party, do you think I'm looking all the dudes that are like 5'7" and comparing myself to them? No. Not that it's a terrible thing or anything, but I think it's natural to notice those that are bigger or better. I don't look at the short guys and think, "damn, I'm tall!" In fact I don't even really notice the short guys. I look at all the guys that are 6'2" and 6'3" and think "ya I'm fine with my height, but boy would it be nice to be 6'2"..." So what I'm trying to say is that depending on what "class" you fall under, I think the "average" can be interpreted differently. For a guy like myself I'd consider the average penis size to be 6+ inches. I think if you took a bunch of guys that were similar to me in size/ethnicity, etc, the average would be 6+. And if you took an even bigger survey, not just my equals, but excluded those that I would not consider myself in competition with, only those who I would feel match me or are even more dominant, I'm sure the average would be even higher. And that's the group that I compare myself with, because that's who I'm competing against - not simply the "masses".
Hope we're not talking this to death, but I do find it interesting and enjoy reading others' opinions. I'll post the link to an earlier thread dealing with the same subject and in particular to the post talking about the California Medical School Study. Here doctors did the measuring and took 80 "normal" men. What does this mean? Your guess as good as mine, but according to many posts here and other articles I've read, physical body size doesn't correlate to penis size.

My point about the nurse was that she probably sees lots of penises at work, not ones she's doing, and if the average is as we believe, then her woman sense of visual measurement is fucked up (right sided - thanks Johan).
Also, as Anabolex pointed out in his time as cop doing strip searches (better you than me my friend), old, young, black, white, whatever, the average flaccid was 2 1/2" - 3". On a much earlier thread, a male nurse pointed out similar findings - age, race, physical size has nothing to do with it. Anyway, I guess my major beef boils down to this; if the real average is around 5" - 5 1/2" say, I wish it was well known for those of us around this size, give or take. And as someone else pointed out in the linked thread, you guys who are larger than this, don't realize how big you really are. Feel fortunate!
phat8, by the way, could you go into more detail about your GF's conversation about the 5" ruler? I didn't understand your point. Thanks.
Penis size is supposedly not related to height according to many surveys, but rather is genetic, meaning that if your daddy and mommy have big dick genes in their blood, than most likely you will have a big penis. My wife is only 5 feet and has very large breasts, and says that most of the women in her family have large breasts and are generally not tall. John Holmes was not terribly tall and he was slim and not built, and he certainly wasn't black, and he had a very large penis. My wife says that her ex-boyfriends penis was 15inches in length and says that she measured, now I now she may be overestimating, but the guy was probably a good ten or eleven inches, she says the guy was only 5'5'' in height and very slim. So again we have the short scrawny guy with the dangling penis. A black guy I saw at the gym was slim and shorter than me (I'm 5'8'' and my penis is 5.5 inches) and his penis must have been at least a good 8inches, but to me it look more like ten inches, but I did not have a ruler, and this was in it's flaccid size. I don't know, but I think the penis has more to do with genes than anything else. Also consider that the Gorilla is the largest primate and yet has one of the smallest penis, both the human and chimpanzee have bigger penises.

Because of my GF's situation, I'd rather not go into it. Because of the situation, she had to sit there and say nothing, however.
Actually, the fact that a 5 inch ruler was used may mean the woman had a more accurate picture of average than most. She said her husband was the ruler.
i tested the theory of women and over estimating this morning on three women, using a steel ruler and holding my handat the 10",6", 4",8" marks i asked their estimations , the first was on average 2" out the second was 1 1/2" out and the third was my wife who was 1" out in all her estimations this was a bit of a shock to me as she is the one who usually measures my penis for any increases in growth during my pe routines. if she couldn't get it right i don't think many women would. waz.
Thanks for doing that test, but you didn't say whether or not they estimated high or low. I'm assuming longer then actual length. Johan, this is a great proof to your left/right brain post. It also proves what many have said here - women just can't estimate lengths/distances. As phat8 says, they are more into the emotion of it all.
Anything might look a lot bigger when it is right in your face.
I think women's inaccurate conjectures over the size of men's dicks they've seen/had, is purely because anything is gonna look bigger/better when you're turned on and want sex.
Incidentally, how good does everyone on the forum reckon they are at guessing the size of girls' tits?

the question of guessing the size of a womans tits brings up a point. my gf mentioned she saw a question posted on a forum basically saying that no one ever brings up the question of the size of a womans vagina???
bb
I think the problem w/ the vagina issue is that if a bloke did criticise a girl for having a pussy like a bucket, she could just come back and say that his dick wasn't big enough. Which hurts more?
But I think the most important fact is that the size of a women's vagina, even if it is like a bucket, isn't really a demonstration of a girl's sexuality, it just shows that her pussy is slightly wider than others. Whereas, a large dick is often seen as a sign of manhood or sexual prowess. In fact, some people may even take a large pussy to mean that the women was clearly getting some cock on a regular base! Thus demonstrating that she is very sexual.
"having a pussy like a bucket"... LOL!
Procurator brought up a good point.
My feeling is that a 7 x 5.25 would be seen as big, maybe even huge, by 95% of the women out there. And that's about what I'm aiming for right now. They'd probably say it was at least 9 inches.
But even right now, this is a problem like the first post said, in that men hear women talk about all these outrageous lengths and many of us just take them for granted. It can make you feel pretty insecure. Luckily, we know better. I'd say a good extra inch (at least) is reasonable to assume that all but the most astute women would estimate.
in answer to your question carlo the three women over estimated in my test.it,s funny my wife says i'm big now (7 1/4" by 5 1/2" ) but it doesn't look any bigger to me than it did when i started 15 months ago (6.4" by 5") and yet when i look at 7.25" on a ruler it looks huge, maybe our own perseptions off size are out of wack to. waz.
