New Penis Size Study Results

Here are the results of a new penis size study recently conducted in Italy on 3,300 males. It seems to correlate pretty well with the results of the USCF study. Remember that 1 inch equals 2.54 cm, and that stretched penis length usually corresponds pretty well to erect length.

Objective: The knowledge of normal variations in the size of male external genitalia is of considerable interest to several disciplines. We carried out an extensive study in young Italian males to provide estimates of normal
variations of penile dimensions.

Methods: The penile length in flaccid and stretched states and the penile circumference were measured in a random group of 3,300 young men aged 17-19 years and free from endocrine disorders and from congenital or acquired abnormalities of the penis. In a random sample of 325 subjects of the same set of people, penile length and circumference were also correlated with weight
and height. Statistical analysis was performed with the Sperman test, because our data were not normally distributed as tested by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov
test (p&rt;0.01).

Results: The median values of penile dimensions recorded in the present study are flaccid length 9.0 cm, flaccid circumference, at the middle of the shaft,
10.0 cm, and stretched length 12.5 cm. We also observed that the penile dimensions are highly correlated with height and weight.

Conclusions: Since penile length and circumference correlate with anthropometric parameters such as weight and height, we suggest to consider themselves as two bodily measures which display a wide extent of normal
variability along the general population.

my stretched length is greater than my erect length, as is true with many other, so that doesn't tell me much. who gives a fuck about flaccid? why didn't they measure erect?

Hmm... that stretched length comes out to about 5 inches, doesn't it? That seems on the short side. Last time I measured my stretched length it was over 8. I know I'm above average, but I refuse to believe that the average penis length is under 5 inches.

There is no way in hell the average stretched length is 5 inches, much as I wish it were. I mean, come on. YOu don't have to be gay to have seen enough dicks to know that just ain't right. The average erect length by almost every study out there is between 6.2 and 6.4 inches, and some of these studies were Durex, Masters & Johnson, others with a vested interest in accuracy. The Definitive Penis Survey, which was not scientific, came in with the same numbers too. They all agree almost exactly. The only differences are probably in bone-pressed vs. not (the 6.4 was probably BP)

My stretched length is at least .5" shorter than my errect length. Is this uncommon?

The USCF study, which measured both stretched and erect lengths, found that the stretched length is on the average approximately 97% of erect length. Applying that percentage to the Italian study generates an average erect length of 12.89 cm or about 5.1 inches. That's exactly the figure that the USCF study came up with.

Bear in mind that every recent study where doctors performed the measuring produced stretched and/or erect lengths under 5.5. This includes the Italian study quoted above, the often quoted USCF study, and the recent Canadian study that also produced an average erect length of around 5.2-5.3.

I think some of you guys just refuse to believe how big you really are!!!

Or does it not matter what the results or who does the test, most guys have a problem believing them???? I say go with what you got between your legs, if your not happy with that work on making it bigger and forget what everyone else has.

My pediatrician buddy notes that penis sizes are on the decrease due to certain, unaccounted for reasons regarding mothers on particular vitamins, drugs, diets, etc. --they are not sure just what is occurring. Sperm counts in the 20-30 something group are way down. I was afraid to post this as he also says that erect penis averages are 5.5L by 4.5G. not the usual 6 inch by 5. Don't shoot the messenger.

The bottom line is, every study, which actually measured the subject, none of this, hey!, let me give it a good inch for measure study! These sudies have a deviation of over 1 inch! 1 Inch, thats a hell of a difference when it comes down to honesty, and the Ruler! I for one feel very good about these conclusions. Think about it, who are you gonna believe, the dude on the internet, or filling out a survey, or the poor guy, or chick thats gotta measure all these weenies!!!! Getting some! Peace!!!!

That's why everyone is nervous. Because everyone like you says the average is 6 inches. Guys get nervous because most are around 5-5.5 inches (non bp probably), they think it's only them, and then they have guys telling them that it's 6 or more.

I know 5-5.5 is right. Take internet porn. Regular porn won't do as in videos it's the same guys over and over again. So, you've got internet porn. Think about it. Even the few big ones you've seen. They were pretty skinny guys weren't they. Most likely on the shorter side. An average dick will look big on a 130lb guy while it would look small on a fat 260 lb slob.

Dangleboy, please. Voluntary response surveys are the least credible statistically. Skewed results. False information. Confounding.

Vested interest? Yes.

Measured by someone other than the guys? Fuck no.

The guys with problems at the far ends of the spectrum... Those with big ones are gonna be proud and participate. Those on the other end with 3-4 inch dicks are gonna avoid answering questions of that kind like the plague. They already feel inferior. They aren't going to take a fucking survey.

Have you also considered that for every big guy that fills in the survey and little guy that doesn't, the average is bumped up another little bit?

And we haven't even talked about the liars. To get an accurate measurement it must be taken by a doctor or someone else. All the studies that point to 5-5.5 seem to have taken this precaution. Those that you cite, did not. They were all taken by guys, guys with egos that would make them push a little harder or angle it a little more.

So we have the work of doctors and researchers vs. that of self measured stallions and a condom company questionairre.

Anyone who has taken even an entry level course in statistics (as I have been unlucky enough to do) knows that voluntary response surveys are invalid and that certain precautions and safeguards must be put in place to assure accuracy of results (one of these in this case would be measurement by a doctor.)

I agree with you **totally** Jethro! If guys think the average is 6 inches then they will do whatever they can to push up their real measurement. Therefore it seems probable if not certain that self-measurement surveys are highly inaccurate and the real average is much lower, which is what all the medically conducted surveys show.

Don't know, maybe you guys are right. I sure hope so. Would love to think average is 5 or 5.5. It's just that all my life "around 6 inches" has been the guide and I haven't seen any large-scale surveys that have come in at 5 or so (the doctor-measured ones). But hey - let's hope so!

it's interesting to note the age range is 17-19. seems to me that's going to make for slightly shorter averages on a couple counts:

1. some percentage of those men are still going through puberty. a big enough percentage to skew the results? dunno. maybe a little.

2. i've repeatedly read that cock size continues to gradually increase on average for some years after puberty. though perhaps this is countered by another phenomenon we're familiar with on this board: a loss of size with age as result of decreased circulation, testosterone or use. do these 2 phenomenon balance one another out?

whatever the case, i wish someone would do a more comprehensive study. obviously this is easier said than done, but...

Physicians studied a group of 80 normal men to measure penis size when flaccid, stretched, and erect to establish guidelines for augmentation. The result? Only one man out of 80 was "even close" to the standard researchers defined as "subnormal."

Internet Self-Reports Findings

Meanwhile, data from an Internet site entitled "The Definitive Penis Size Survey, Sixth Edition" claims to have collected data from 3,100 site visitors (the site says its data is the "most exhaustive penis size survey to be conducted to date"). The site's author says he has thrown out obvious cases of fraudulent responses such as respondents who claimed "American Zulu warrior" ancestry, for instance, from its reported results.

Self Reports Doth Find More Than Meets the Physicians' Eyes: 1.5 Inches More

As you can see, the self-reported findings seem to find men who have penis sizes more than 1.5 inches longer than when physicians do the measuring! Is this proof that the old joke about women thinking that 6 inches is a foot, may contain more substance than we had thought?
