View Full Version : condom sizes???
A little off topic...
I don't have a huge penis by any measure, yet it is certainly on the large side of the spectrum (7x5.8). I've had a lot of experiences breaking condoms... in fact I usually make sure I have at least three on me if there is any chance of having sex since I frequently break one or two over the course of having sex. Here's the question... what condoms should I buy??? I know that Lifestyles are way too small for me, they always break. Trojans are usually alllright but they break frequently as well. I have the impression that Trojan Magnums might be like sticking my fist into a grocery bag not to mention the fact that I'd be embarassed to buy them. What the heck is the difference between Trojan Large and Trojan Magnum. I checked their web site and there were no measurement guidleines..... anybody got the answers???

Check out this recent thread... pub14.ezboard.com/fpeforu...=146.topic (http://pub14.ezboard.com/fpeforumsthaplayasclub.showMessage?topicID=146.top ic)
There are several condom sites, such as www.condomania.com (http://www.condomania.com) that list the sizes. Trogan Large and Trogan Magnum XL are the largest available.

That condom breaking talk is scary. What do you figure is going on there?
I know it does happen, but those suckers are pretty tenacious. If it's too tight, how do you even get it on?
Try a little ky lube on your dick before rolling one on. Maybe that will help with the breakage. Just an idea.

well trojan magnums arent huge condoms by any means...
im about 7.5x5.75 now and they fit quite snugg without being to restrictive...
a 7" length is fine with magnums, its just larger girths that usually lead to condoms breaking... magnums, i read were about 15% larger than normal condoms in the girth area...
I'd be careful with the idea of KY between you and the condom - you don't want it slipping off! When into some serious in and out that can happen.
Titanium, thanks for your concern it is pretty freaky to break so many. I've gotten quite used to it, however and just pull out immediately when it happens....clean it off and put a new one on. I think the problem is that I have the most girth in the middle so it gets tight there and can move a little near the head. If I put one on with full errection it actually hurts when the elastic goes over the thickest part at the middle.
Anyway I'm going to try Trojan Magnums with a ummm errr "friend" tonight. I actually talked to her about it ahead of time since I was worried I'd look like an idiot showing up with them. She was kind of turned on I guess.... she offered to buy them herself saying it would be a boost to her ego to go to the checkout with them. Size doesn't matter huh?
So I've read up on the Magnums and they are only slightly larger in terms of girth which I think might be acceptable. I'll give a full report tomorrow.

So, I used the Magnums for the first time. The fit was great, especially at mid shaft where I have most of my girth. There was a little extra length for me that I didn't unravel when I put it on, but no problems with that at all. In general it was more comfortable and I am pleased that it did NOT break. BTW my measurements 7X5.8

Per earlier in the thread - DO NOT use KY jelly or any petroleum based stuff with a latex condom -- it will dissolve it!
And in re: breakage - I think it has to do more with friction or something than having a thick dick. I've seen them tested in a documentary and they put them over these phallic shaped objects that are way huger than any dick would ever be.
True, though . that some guys complain about too tight a fit feeling as though it is cutting off circulation.

KY does not contain a petroleum product and is completely safe with a latex condom. I believe it's made with glycerine and water. Good point though Dangleboy, Definately no vaseline or petroleum based products or even oil based (vegetable or otherwise)!

on that same subject, I just read an article that upset me, that a lot of the common water based lubricants have glycol type compounds similar to those found in auto anitifreeze. (not exactly good for your health)
also, it is now popular to put vitamin e and aloe in some popular lubricants. these agents may be good to help with irritation but can cause some loss of sensitivity and therefore not good if you want to get the most feeling out of the experience.
the cadillac of lubes is astroglide. it is very expensive (about $18) but contains non of the above.
just my two cents on lubes.

I do think that the breakage has to do with size, and maybe even more to do with shape. I find that my own penis is thickest in about the middle of the shaft. Regular condoms seem to shift around near the tip. I like to give it to 'em pretty hard, so I think the breakage usually occurs when the fit gets distorted near the tip but is held tight at mid-shaft. The Magnums also moved around at the tip but not any more than the regular condoms. Yet the difference seemed to be that the Magnums had enough space to accomodate the movement at the tip. There's also no chance of slippage here because of the Magnums being larger. I even tried one on by myself and jerked off with it, just about trying to get it to come off.... it stayed on.
My biggest complaint with the things is the frigging packaging. For some reason (probably male ego) the wrappers are enormous and filled with air. You just cant put one of these things into your wallet or pocket without worrying about the package popping open. Finally, they are hard to open... you know how getting the condom right before foreplay turn to sex can potentially spoil the mood? Well, I needed to use my teeth to open these once and it took at least a full minute to unwrap it. It successfully spoiled the mood.
