View Full Version : Not sore after workout, bad?
Yeah I've been working out for about 1 month. when i first started i was sore like every time i worked out. but now i dont get sore anymore even though i increased my intensity. But even though i can see a big difference when i started out. I'm 16 and i can bench only about 100 lbs, that kinda sucks because everyone i know can bench at least 130.
Also, what do stretch marks look like. I've been getting long and thin purple lines around my muscles but i dont know if they are stretch marks
I'm not sure if soreness is an accurate indicator of future growth or not. I know that when I start a new routine I'll be sore after the first workout or two (depends on # of rest days) but not after that. I know it feels good to be a little sore (makes me feel like I'm bigger than I really am + like I accomplised something).
Anyway, if you're happy with your progress then you may want to stick with the same routine. If you're not happy and you're doing everything right (sleep, food, etc...) then you probably need to change it up. Some people recommend changing your routine every 4 to 6 weeks for maximum benefits. Also, you may want to search one of the lifting sites (like testosterone.net (http://testosterone.net) ) for "periodization"
Stretch marks - all I know is that they usually appear on your front deltoids and / or your butt (I've got them on my butt from a 20 rep squat routine)
Good luck,
SMF
IF u want to be sore after a workout say a benching workout do focus more on the lowerning of the weight. Try lowering whatever weight u do for a count of four then when u touch your chet push it up as hard and fast as possible and repeat for every rep. You will be sore garunteed. And those purple lines are prob stretch marks and they can appear anywhere i have the all over my biceos tripes deltoids chest ass lower back and on my sides and calves.
