Hey guys,

Quick question for you, carbs or protein after a workout? I think I heard carbohydrates, but not sure.

Thanks

You need both lots of carbs and protein after your workout to maximize your results. More carbs than protein though.

are you trying to get huge, lean. ripped??? depends on your goals. To get lean take in 50 grams of liquid protein and about 40 to 50 grams of simple carbs with 40 to 50 of complex carbs (oatmeal) This should be done after a workout only in order to stay lean and keep the muscles pumped. After that one insulin spiking meal, taper off on the carbs and eat protein with vegetables. One night a week (Saturday or Sunday for me) make your last meal of the day a 100 carb meal with under 20 grams of protein and very little fat...

after your workout you will have used your stores of energy to fuel your workout so if you eat protein alone this will be converted into glucose to replenish your energy reserves.
So you need to eat carbs and protein. The carbs are absorbed faster then protein so when they have replaced your missing energy your protein can get to work building muscle.
