View Full Version : shortness of breath playing sport

About a year ago I came down with glandular fever, but luckily for me I recovered quickly and after 3 weeks was playing sport again. The problem I have now, is that whenever I play sport such as rugby in warm weather, I have a terrible shortness of breath. Using my mums inhaler for her asthma seems to help a little, but the strange thing is that every second night I run 6 kilometers around my block and at the end I sprint the last 300 or so metres without any real fatigue. Yet I only need a couple of short burst of sprinting on the football field to make me stuffed. I was wondering if any one else had any experiences with glandular fever causing them shortness of breath in some situations after recovering from it.

Thankyou,

Spoog
