View Full Version : Got a problem
Hey everybody. I'm sorry to start a new post about a problem that was posted earlier but there seemed to be a long period of inactivity there. The problem was i have large nipples also. The worst problem is that they 'poof' out for lack of a better word. My chest muscles are firm cause i do work out 3-4 days a week for 2 hours. So they arent the problem. Anyone have a clue of what causes it? Anyone know how to reduce the size without surgery?
No idea sorry. I guess you're looking for a permanent solution. You could stick tape over them to hide them under your shirt as a temporary measure.
Is there a firm 'lump' under each nipple? If so it may be a very slight case of gynocomastia (bodybuilders call them bitch tits).
After my brother hit puberty his nipples started 'poofing' out and I used to pick on him. Well, guess what happened when I hit puberty...yep - mine poofed out too. I've read that it happens in a lot of guys, but in a few unlucky ones the condition doesn't go away after puberty. Mine are still puffy with a small lump.
I think it's caused when your body converts testosterone into estrogens (the process is called aromitization...a chemistry major told me that steriod hormones like testosterone and estrogen have this thing called an aromatic ring - hence the term aromitization.) When testosterone levels get really high (from puberty, steriods, etc...)some of it can get converted to estrogens. The estrogens then go on to stimulate growth in your breast tissue.
It seems that the nipples are a lot less noticable if you have really low bodyfat. Other than that I would suggest seeing a doctor. Also, check the web for 'gynocomastia'

I seem to remember somewhere that you're 15. Is this accurate at all? If so, they have a good chance of going away.

I have a friend who had that problem when he was about your age. It went away eventually, so maybe it's an age thing.
yeah, im beginning to think so too. i read info in those links given above in an earlier reply. said that it happened to around 40% pubescent boys ages 14 - 15.5 years of age and 70% of them needed no treatment because it eventually goes away. from what i could tell, it was the converting of androgen into estrogen. guess what they are tryin to say is, being a teenage boy sucks so get used to it for a little while. oh well, hopefully it will eventually go away. if anyone else has the same prob as me goto those links above in the earlier reply. helps you understand whats goin on. thanks a bunch everyone, and if anyone else has somethin to say then please do. all info is much appreciated.
