I just started taking ZMA supplements and I was wondering when is the best time to take the ZMA. I have read that you should take all of the daily amount before you go to sleep, but it suggests on the bottle to take it three times a day instead of taking all of the daily dose at one time.
ZMA helps recovery and sleep efficiency. From what I've read it seems that ZMA helps recovery BECAUSE it increases sleep efficiency. It increases anabolic hormone levels, and as I'm sure you know, when you sleep, you grow. I've read that it is most efficient when taken before bed on am empty stomach (also with no supplements containing calcium), so this is what I do. I feel that it says to take it three time a day on the bottle so that you take more of it and buy more in a shorter period of time. I hope this helps and I haven't just reiterated everything you already know about ZMA.
