View Full Version : Creatin and water retention

I tried useing creatin about a year ago, and I bloated up, just as if I was taking sustanon (nasty stuff with 4 different testosterones in it, quite illegal). So much so that others in the gym started to insinuate that I was on "the grear". I decided to not use any "magic" supplements at all after that, and saved alot of money in the process, with the benefit of knowing I wasn't dependant on anything apart from the weights.

A friend at the gym said the water retention has all to do with the purity of the creatin...which I doubted at the time, but is this true ? or can creatin cause water retention with many individuals ? and if that's the case, surely it's bad news stuff ?

I've been using creatine and have not experienced any water retention. It could be that I am using it in combination with weightlifting and high endurance exercises (in any given day). I found that creatine particularly helps with my endurance exercises.

Creatine did the same to me - bloated up and held water making my face fat as hell! I personally cannot tolerate the stuff. I use other supplemnents that seem to work well for me and have added to my PE routine. I do not want to get on the juice again, so I am always looking for better and long term ways to stay big - my two cents for you on Creatine.....

I have to agree with SFPumper. I run alot and lift, and have had no problems aside from some indegestion if I take the stuff onan emtpy stomach. And I feel it really helps with muscle recovery time.

Drink an extra quart a day if you're using creatine. It'll relieve some of the non-muscular bloat, and it'll help you avoid cramps.

There really is no difference in the creatine except for the name. It is true that creatine does bloat you up. My buddy is a manager at Linbergs Nutrition center and he provides me with all my creatine. I have tried all sorts of creatine. Every bodies body reacts in a different way, so all I can say is just try different things and you'll find something that works for you. However, be sure to have a lay off period.

There is a difference. Some creatine products have a more efficient transport system. Try Cell-Tech by muscle-tech, the best

I've used prolabs version for a while now.
You do put on about 1kg in weight i find. I havent had anythin as severe as described up there but i can believe it.
I did find joggin harder at first cos of the exrtra weight but after that passed i stepped the runnin up a fraction and well endurance didnt really shift much unless i was liftin, i can lift all day now(not literally) but i can damn sure sprint better now about 14secs for 100m I used to be very slight and have slo-twitch fibres, I was a 1500m guy and 16.5secs at 100m. Creatine did help, drink MORE water, it flushes you out, avoids cramp and is good for you anyway, a huge amount of things i have found to be cured by drinkin more, water;)!

I use it with L-glutamine, combine the two FUCK ME ITS GOOD.
