I've posted here a couple times, and lurked for a month or so. I've seen all kinds of reactions, both here and at other sites, to the myth or reality of PE. I think it's interesting that so much knee-jerk doubt exists on a subject that is so near and dear to almost all men. Gives you some idea of the significance of the topic, as well as the strength of the belief that it can't be done.
And I confess that until I saw the free sites, with the wealth of information, techniques and history, as well as the lack of any sales pitch, I figured it was just another scam pinned to sex and the basic need for love. But after doing some reading and research, as well as a little experimenting with the various techniques mentioned, I'm convinced that some benefit is definitely there. Whether that turns out to be an 8X6 weapon of mass destruction or my current 6X5 that just hangs a little better remains to be seen. But one thing is for certain: no program, whether I believe in it or not, will work unless I work it.
I'll be 54 at the beginning of May. In the 40+ years that I've even been aware of the thing, I've been yanking it and using it with no thought to improving it. So what's a year out of my life doing something I enjoy to something I enjoy in order to bring a little more joy into my life...? And someone else's.
So that's the plan. My first goal isn't a number. It's consistency. I suspect any number I might pick would change as soon as I get near it. Either that, or remain discouragingly distant. But consistency and discipline I can deal with. They are rooted in reality, close at hand. And although they're usually not as much fun as fantasy, nor as easy, in the end they may allow the fantasy to come true. (Enjoy the puns. It's virtually impossible to talk about anything related to sex without committing a few...!)
I'm posting this message because I think there's probably a lot of lurkers out there who feel the same way. Maybe this will encourage them a bit. And below is some general data, which may answer about me some of the questions I sometimes have about other guys when I read their posts.
I hope to make some friends here. Even if I experience no gains, at least I'll have the opportunity to talk about sex and my dick. Not too many places you can do that...!

denetee,
Sorry you weren't able to see my comments yesterday. I'll try to post the essence of what I said.
Welcome to the board. It's refreshing to see a newcomer on the board who immediately begins to post well-written, intelligent and insightful comments wrapped in maturity. Looking forward to your contributions to the board. I enjoyed reading your above post. We seem to have similar PE philosophies. So many guys come in here and constantly fret about gains, etc. I wonder if they take time to enjoy the journey. I think that you have the right attitude and approach. Good luck to you in your PE endeavors.

you hit it on the head, jmeister...as in so many things in life, it is all about the journey. pe is no different. we all should relax about the gains & enjoy the ride. thanks for the reminder.

Thank you, gentlemen, and J Meister, thanks for re-posting your kind remarks.
I want to post some starting stats here, as well as a routine of some kind - I've seen several that seem appropriate - but I'm in a phase that is a little recurrent for me. I haven't lost interest but I think my dick has...!
Actually, this is a curious reality in my life. I seem to have a cycle of some kind where, for a few days each month, I'm just not interested in sex, other than as an academic subject. I still wake up under a phone pole every morning (lol), but that's about it.
The strangest thing about it is that it seems - um, coincidental, let's say - with the moon. Meaning that the last 10 days before a full moon, I'm interested in everything from the barely nubile to the barely mobile. But around a new moon, I basically could care less. And before you hoot me off the forum, let me say that I've been watching this cycle for a number of years now.
There are some positives to this, though. At least once a month, I can get some work done...
Anybody experience something similar...?

No, but my wife loses interest in sex on a regular basis!
Seriously, to answer your question, I only lose interest when I become totally immersed in a project (at home). Ironically, my wife is always interested at such times and is disappointed when I'm not in the mood to perform.

could a few coincidences that were noticed by you long ago become a self fulfilling prophecy?
denetee
04-18-2002, 04:37 PM
Oh, this could easily be a self-fulfilling prophecy. It does seem rather more coincidental than random, but I probably skew the numbers in some vain attempt to make sure the universe is actually taking an interest in me. I wouldn't put anything past my devious ego.
There does seem to be some cyclical nature to this, but I've never turned somebody down by pointing to a calendar and saying, "Could you wait 3 days, please...?"
But thanks for responding without calling me a lunatic(!)
Okay, numbers:
flaccid length: 4"
flaccid girth: 4"
These vary, of course, but it seems about right. (Makes me think it should be square...)

Routines. Discipline. Consistency. Not really words I would easily apply to what I'm doing, although they are all appropriate. Jelqing - to the degree I'm doing it - has slid so naturally into my daily "do list" that it seems as if it always belonged.
I'm still working into various techniques, but most of what's happening takes place in the shower. It's warm, it's wet, it's private, (it's plumbing - what am I talking about here...!?), it has a few different lubes in it.
By the time I finish my normal washing, shaving, etc., everything is pretty warm and loose. I start with manual stretches in all directions, some holding the stretch and some with a slow, circular motion. This seems to evolve naturally into a jelq motion, which I do in a 3-5 second slide. Maybe 3 or 4 minutes of that and I'm into a series of ulis, push and hold, push and hold, maybe 5 second holds. Most of this is with the right hand. With the left I make a vee with 2 fingers and straddle the base of my penis, holding back against my belly. This seems to get me a decent lig stretch. We'll see.
I'm finding that some of the ladies bath soaps work well for this. I normally use Irish Spring or something like that, but even I'm not stupid enough to try it for this. But Dove works well, or Camay - for that matter, there's probably a host of moisturizing "guy" stuff out there. But the scent of the ones I'm using helps, too.
What I'm doing is sort of analogous to a full-body workout in the gym. And I'm pleased to see that it has re-awakened my interest in working out in general. On more than a few occasions I have suffered from letting my dick do my thinking for me, but in this case it seems like a good idea. (Well, I guess it did then too, at the time!)

Just posting for continuity. I'm still practicing the same routine, which seems similar to that described by luvdadus, at the start of his log. It's still shower-oriented, which I can see becoming a problem when the routine lengthens, as it has and will continue to do. I frequently take two showers a day, so I get two opportunies to jelq and stretch there, and mostly I use both. But I think I need a bit more time and intensity in the routine.
This is probably when people start to get injuries. So I'm looking into the rice sock thing, although I'm wondering if a heating pad over the lap might not be more effective.
I haven't done any measurements and I won't for a while - hell, it's only been about two weeks - but my penis does seem to be hanging a little heavier. Even if that's all in my head (my big head...) that's ok. There's a general feeling of well-being that's coming along with all this that's an immediate and unexpected benefit. And a welcome one, since I'm in the middle of arranging for a new place to live. Godihatemoving! But maybe I can throw out some old misconceptions along with the accumulated junk.

I must be getting a little more serious about this. I just got a power jelqer. I barely remember ordering it, mostly because it was about 6:15AM, I guess. No e-mail confirmation, no receipt, I don't think it's even shown up on my on-line statement, and it should have by now. But it only took 3 or 4 days.
I've used it a couple times, gently and briefly. There is a learning curve, but it's pretty simple. Mostly it seems to be a matter of what to hold where and when. But it's such a familiar looking thing that I keep thinking I should be in an arts and crafts course, or a cooking class or something like that. Not standing in a shower squeezing my dick!
Which, by the way, is looking very healthy. This thing definitely has an effect. When I finish, the shape of my penis is different than when I finish a regular jelq session. A large percentage of my girth is in the spongiosum, the bottom part. The PJ seems to push that and the cavernosa out to the sides better than any of the various grips I use with my hands. I wouldn't call it permanent growth (altho I haven't measured) but it's a pleasing change.
Been reading that warm-up thread. I feel comfortable with the shower results. Seems to me the penis should be nice and loose for jelqing, and the shower provides that. I think stretching the ligs requires a little more focus, though. I spray warm water there, and use a little massage around the sides and base of the penis. Everything I've ever learned about stretching ligs and muscles says go slow, get warm and loose, increase the stretch gradually. Don't see why this should be any different.

Well, let's see. I got a PJ on 4/26 and fumbled around with it a bit before settling into a routine of sorts. For the last few days I've been doing this:
warm-up (mild heat & lig massage)
stretch, easy, in all directions
jelq, about 50 strokes, with a lube
power-jelq, 50 strokes
ulis, 4-8, 10 second hold
shake it out, relax a minute
jelq, 50
power-jelq, 50
clean up and strut around for a minute,
until I start laughing at myself.
Those are the basics. Lately, I've thrown in some squeezes, too. Usually, I'll run through that sequence 2 or 3 times. Even the strutting.
I do this both standing and sitting. I'm now out of the shower for the routine, which has to make the water authority happy. I live alone (except for my rapidly expanding fantasy life) so privacy is not an issue, and I use the kitchen. I have a bar-height kitchen table I use to display a few pix of the babe-of-the-moment. It helps.
It all helps. Here's how I know:
EBPL: 6.5
EG: 5.25
FL: 4.25
FG: 4.25
Huh. Whaddyaknow...

Took 2 days off, mostly because it felt like the right thing to do. There was some fatigue setting in, although no pain of any kind. Added to the fact that I had two 12 hour days at work, it was an easy decision.
Got back to my routine this morning, or part of it. I noticed those little red dots showing up, so I stopped. I don't know whether to be encouraged or alarmed. Everything I've read on this board pretty much indicates they are to be taken in stride, perhaps even as a sign of growth. But I am going to stop for another day or two, aside from some very light shower jelqing, maybe. Also, I think I'll up my fluid and protein intake a bit.
I don't think it's related, but I have been fooling around with padlocks, lately. Been using a 6 oz. and a 12 oz. I can't get the 12 oz. to stay on long enough, and the 6 oz doesn't exert a whole lot of pull. But it is pretty amusing to look at myself in a mirror with a padlock hanging from my penis. Between the locks and the PJ, I feel like I'm in some updated, kinder and gentler, Medieval torture chamber.:)
However - the numbers don't lie. There has been some growth (or enlargement, or stretching, or something...), even though I don't consider it significant enough at this point to rule out a measurement error. Flaccid size is much larger, 1/2" each way, sometimes more. Erect seems larger and measured larger, but not beyond a margin of error. Routine. Discipline. Consistency. Common sense. We shall see...

No jelqing today. Got in the shower and, inevitably, started stretching a bit, after things got warm and loose. Turned and let the warm water spray right on the ligs and did some pull and holds to the sides and front. I could feel the ligs stretch out, and when I completed a cycle (L, R, F) I let go. Flaccid hang was impressively (to me :)) longer, with no particular engorgement. Think I'll continue with this for a few days, and work it into the routine when I get back to it, probably Thursday.
Afterwards, I slapped a 6 oz. lock on, put on a loose pair of pants and got on with the day.
The things we do for love...

This is getting interesting. Took 4 of the last 5 days off, with only light jelqing on one day and some moderate stretches on all days. I appear to have gained another 1/8, putting me at 6 5/8" EBPL.
I'm measuring this as carefully and conservatively as I can. I'm not inclined to jam that ruler in too hard, so I am inclined to trust it.
Anyway, my first goal - consistency - seems achieved. So it's time to set a number. Let's say 7" X 5.5". That would be an additional gain roughly equal to what I've had so far.

Well, here we are at a new moon, which I have, in the past, regarded as a nadir in my sexual interest cycle. Does not appear to be having that effect this time around.
In fact, quite the opposite, and pretty consistently too. The "surge" is back. You know, when you see a young lady making a pair of jeans look particularly good? As recently as 2 months ago, I would simply note that. Now, there's a definite reaction from the entertainment center (which is even more interesting when I'm wearing a lock...)
Even if PE hadn't given me any of the modest gains I've had, that right there would be worth it.
As far as the cyclic business goes, I'm starting to confirm another part of my (whacked...?) theory: that there is a cyclic nature to it, but it only shows up when resources are low. I'm a 54 year old guy with too much cholesterol, too much blood pressure and not enough exercise. Plus, I smoke and drink coffee, which in itself can raise serum cholesterol counts. Since starting PE exercises, I have improved in all of those categories. And I've regained an interest in improving in general, which may wind up to be more important.
Fountain of youth? Well, maybe not. But I regularly get pegged for early 40's, so maybe I should take the lease.

I note that this "progress log" of mine is more like a diary than a simple assembly of numbers. That's ok with me - I'm interested in the effect PE has overall in my life, not just on the length and girth of my erection.
Although, ironically, it's flaccid size that shows the most change. I seem to maintain a steady 4" to 4 1/2 +" hang now, and somewhat fatter. Better circulation, I suppose. And I have to laugh at myself quite frequently when I catch myself standing a certain way, trying to outline the bulge in my pants. I can be such a dope, sometimes! :)
But not so foolish that I can't sense a general rise in self-confidence. There is a sense of calm and competence that I experience that I believe comes just from the effort at self-improvement.
Been jelqing a bit less this week, and hanging a bit more. I devised a hanger from pipe insulation, circular screw clamps, those flat picture hooks, some light chain and some of my long-unused dive weights. I used 2 1/2 lbs and then 5 lbs. I'll have to examine Bib's wrapping thread again, but the hanger seems to work pretty well. I'm finding that it is absolutely essential to warm up for this. The ligs have to be soft and pliant to get a good stretch, and, I believe, kept that way for a bit afterwards.

Forgive me for posting this here. I'll delete this if you wish me to, but I just want to say that your posts are probably about the most interesting and definitely the most well written that I've seen. I know that basically has nothing to do with your PE endeavors but I just wanted to say that your posts haven't gone unnoticed. Also, goodluck with your PE. I hope you make all the gains you set out to meet. Best of luck to you.

Thank you, ccoffman, that's quite a nice compliment. Sometimes I think I get a bit carried away, but then, if you're going to tell the world exactly how big your dick really is, why hold anything else back...!? :)
As far as posting here goes, I don't think anybody on the board objects to a little positive reinforcement no matter what the forum. I sure don't.
Thanks again, and good luck to you, too.

Hmm, been a while since I've been here. The last 10 days have been busy. I work 2 jobs, my own business and a part-time job that sometimes expands a bit, as it has recently. Add to that the search for a new place to live and it fills the week.
But I'm set with a new address, the move is next week and after that I can get back to my regular PE routine, which has suffered a bit from all the distractions.
But I think the layoff might have had some benefit. There has been no change in flaccid gains, which is encouraging. Any lingering red spots have disappeared. I have had a few light jelq and PJ sessions, the best one this morning.
No measurements, I'll get around to it later.

The following is a note that I sent to friends and family members this morning. I'm posting it here because, as I keep realizing, PE is only a part of my life. As such, it can be affected by the other parts, both positively and negatively. This is definitely a negative event. But with the depth of sharing that I've seen from other guys here, I thought it might be ok, and perhaps helpful to others dealing with loss. I've edited this in the interests of anonymity, although anyone who knows me and reads this would instantly pierce the veil of my screen name. I didn't want to go so far as to start a thread, but any replies here are welcome.
----------
And now I'm editing it again. Maybe a little too personal for anyone not connected with it. The trauma of the death of a longtime pet can be difficult to communicate, but it turned me into a train wreck, and made PE seem completely insignificant. I'll be back when that changes.

Well, that was an interesting month, and not one I'd want back. Pet died, residence changed, and I aggravated an old but quiet hernia injury. PE just went splat for a while.
But I've been back at it for a couple weeks now. Nothing extreme, just 50 PJ's a day and a few uli's. Plus some general manual stretches while reading or watching TV.
Haven't really read through the board, so I don't know who else is doing what, but that's what I'm up to.
denetee
07-14-2002, 03:26 PM
Still at the same light routine. 50 to 80 PJs and 10 or 15 minutes of uli's. And a fair amount of manual stretching, which I believe is having an effect. Flaccid hang is 4.5" to 5" now, consistently. My unit looks bulkier when soft, and feels larger when erect, the head too, although I haven't got any numbers to support that.
My current goal is 7" X 5.5", not too far away.
denetee
07-15-2002, 07:39 AM
Not too far away at all, actually. Decided to take a measurement last night. At absolute maxed-out, full-kegeled, c'monbabygofoit erection, I crossed the 7 inch marker on the ruler! Cor, blimey! Girth went to 5 1/2, yikes!
Just yesterday I posted those marks as goals. Maybe all I have to do is write 'em down, lol!
But you know, it's strange. I can remember many, many times of looking at myself and thinking what I would give to have just one more inch. Thinking what it might feel like to have a seven inch erection. Now I've got one, and you know what:
It feels pretty damn good!

07-15-2002, 07:44 AM
I have had days when I got measurements I couldn't believe, repeated them later, still there. Again, still there. Then a week later the gains were gone, no amount of kegeling straining etc would help. I don't know what it means, but ususally a few weeks later the measurement would come back and stay.
denetee
07-15-2002, 08:47 AM
Yeah, I'm pleased but not deceived. I expect this to vary a bit. In fact, I took several measurements last night, and both girth and length were different each time. But it sure was nice to see the one time length crossed the marker!
Like most guys, I used to measure my erection long before I ever heard of PE. I'd get anything from 5 1/4 to almost 6, NBP I suppose. The penis is a stubborn, willful, splendid piece of biological and psychological architecture, but it's been a revelation to discover that it can, in fact, be changed in a positive and specific way by means other than (in addition to) good general health care.
denetee
08-08-2002, 05:09 AM
Measurements have been holding steady for 3 weeks now, for length anyway. I think girth has varied a bit, running between 5.25 and 5.5. But the 7 inch measurement for length is real.
Interesting that this gain showed after a layoff of 2 or 3 weeks, and then just light workouts for a week or so. There really does seem to be a kind of a speed limit of sorts with PE, which says "you'll get there faster if you go a little slower." Gee, another inconsistency in life, what a surprise...
But speed limits aside, I am thinking more about hanging. Been poking around Thunders' forum on it, and on this one. Manual stretching has been effective for me, but I think it's because I've learned what, where and how to grab and pull. And I've found there's a need to shift grips, a lot. Can't do that with a hanger. But guys gain with it, so...we'll see.
