I've visited a local sex shop (again) and added to my collection of cock rings. My most recent purchase included a 1.75 inch seamless aluminum ring and another "Mega Stretch Silcone Pleasure Ring". Here is a description of the different kinds of cock rings I have in my arsenal:

Super Stretchy (rubber-like) Ring--this is my most favorite ring and the easiest to get on and off. It comes in various sizes, I have the two smallest sizes: 1.5" and 1.75". It comes in various colors and easily stretches to go around your entire package (dick and balls). This ring is very comfortable to wear since the edges are totally smooth and round. Cost $5.99.

Mega Stretch Silicone Pleasure Ring--my local shop has bunch of these in a candy jar-like container. This ring is made of soft, stretchy silicone and consists of a 3/4" flat band of silicone that is 1/2" in diameter with raised nubs molded onto the band (french tickler style). When I bought my second one I discovered that not only do these come in various colors, they also have various styles of raised nubs and ticklers. This ring is designed to be placed at the base of the shaft only. This ring seems to be quite sturdy and well-made and is a bargain at $1.99.

Seamless Aluminum Ring--I wanted to try a metal ring, the sex shop had them in steel, seamless steel, seamless aluminum and seamless gold-plated.
Not wanting to spring for the gold-plated, I chose the seamless aluminum ring instead. I asked the girl at the shop which size to get, she said that 1.75" was the most popular size. The seamless aluminum rings come in various colors and sizes starting at 1.5". This ring is intended to go around your entire package. Since it is totally rigid, it's a bitch to put on since you have to insert each testicle through the ring, then pull your penis through. However, it is much easier to take off. Cost $6.99 for seamless aluminum ring (gold-plated cost $15.99).

Cock rings I have tried:

Hard Rubber Ring--this ring is similar to the Super Stretchy Ring except that it does not stretch. The size I bought is 1.25" in diameter and is too small to go around cock and balls and a little too big to wear at the base of my shaft. Some of you that are well-endowed in the girth department would be able to wear this size around your shaft. If I had the right size, putting this ring on around my entire package would involve the same process as putting on a metal ring. Cost $5.99.

Leather Strap with Velcro Fastener--this ring consists of a flat band of black leather with velcro sewn on the ends to facilitate adjusting for various sizes and desired constriction levels. This ring is designed to be worn around your entire package. It is easy to put on; however, it tends to pinch any hair that gets in the way and the leather edges seem to dig into tender scrotal skin. Cost 8.95.

Leather Strap with Snap Fasteners--this ring is the same as the one described above except that it has metal snaps instead of velcro. Everything else very similar. Cost $9.95.

Set of 3 Silicone Rings--includes a small, medium and large stretchy silicone rings. I purchased these at another sex shop. This California Exotics product was poorly made and two rings broke the first time I used them. Cost $10.95.

"Lasso" Adjustable Ring--this ring consists of a loop of surgical tubing secured by a wooden bead. You slide the bead up and down to achieve the desired fit. You could easily make one of these yourself. It is intended to be worn around both dick and balls. This was the first cock ring I bought. The thing I didn't like about this ring was that I was always pinching tender scrotal skin when I tightened the loop. Cost $11.95.

Cut-to-fit Plastic Tubing Ring--This ring consists of a loop of plastic tubing with an internal connnector that joins the two ends together. It can be cut to fit around both the shaft and scrotum or around the shaft only. Invariably, I found myself pinching scrotal skin as I tried to join the two ends together. Cost $11.95.

Since this post is so long, I'm going to post a second part to this thread describing how I use the rings for PE and size enhancement.

I was initially inspired to consider using cock rings for PE by Mistered's post about how he wears a cock ring after a PE session to prolong engorgement in a relaxed, restful mode.

Using the 1.75" Super Stretchy Ring, I have put it on at night before going to bed. Massaging myself to a state of engorgement, I then drift off to sleep. I bought the seamless aluminum cock ring with the intent of seeing if wearing it would enhance my package. I wore it two evenings last week to see what it was like. Like I mentioned earlier, it is difficult to put on; however, once in place it is fairly comfortable to wear. I've done online searches by typing "cock rings" in the search engine. I have not seen the variety of different rings on one site that compares with one of the local sex/adult novelty shops here in the city where I live. I try to avoid purchasing products like this online or via mail order to avoid embarrassing questions when the package shows up at my house. Another use (their original use) of cock rings is to achieve maximum engorgement/girth during sex. My experience is limited in this area. When I was first getting into PE, I tried the "Lasso" Adjustable Ring once during sex with my wife. (I was having trouble getting totally hard that day.) Young virile guys have trouble getting tight metal rings off if their dick won't go down.

If you are using Viagra or penile injections to enhance erections be very aware that if you also use a tight metal ring your dick may not go down, and you may do real and permanent damage.

Basically an elastic fabric used to pull back hair with. I wouldn't recommend using a traditional one with the metal bind.

I think I'm on the same page now. I had forgotten that some hair elastics have a short strip of metal that connects the ends together to form a ring. You must be talking about the hair elastics that are one continuous piece of elastic forming a ring. Definitely cheaper, easier to get and more disposable than the cock rings I've described; however, how comfortable are the hair elastics to wear? It would seem to me that they would tend to dig into the skin. Do you wear them around dick and balls or around the shaft only? I'll have to raid my daughters' supply of hair accessories and give this a try.

With cock rings, there is a fine line between being too tight and not tight enough. Better to err on the side of being not tight enough. You need some stimulation for most cock rings to work.

The place where I bought them carried two styles--regular and "Heavy Duty". The regular rubber ring is similar to a metal ring as far as the thickness of the round rubber band forming the ring. The "Heavy Duty" is made of a thicker or heavier round rubber band, hence the name. The hard rubber rings have very little, if any stretch or compression. As I stated in the first post, a hard rubber ring worn around dick and balls has to be put on the same way that a metal ring is put on. I found the hard rubber rings to be somewhat more comfortable to wear than metal rings with the same benefits from the rigidity of the ring. Yes, I know. I've become a total slut for cock rings. I have to try them all. My latest foray into my local sex novelties shop resulted in my purchasing a chrome "doughnut"-style cock ring. This bad boy (manufacured by Vulcan Metals) has a stated inside diameter of 1.75" and is a thick chrome steel ring with rounded edges that weighs in at 5.9 ounces. I hesitated before buying, the asking price was close to $50. But, being the cock ring slut I am, I just had to try it. I first put it on to wear during the work day. For you guys that want to experiment with a cockring:

I was looking around for something around the house. My bike had a flat. This is a "road" bike the kind with the skinny tires. I cut out an 8 inch long section and fastened with a small safety pin. Becasue you're using a safety pin you can tighten or loosen it to your preference. The rubber has a decent amount of strech. I wear the safety pin on the underside. I can sleep comfortably with it too.

Just make sure if you decide to sleep that you have experimented with the fit so it's not overly tight. The actual tube size is 27 x 7/8-1, In reality the width is about 3/4 inch while wearing. I guess you could use the regular fatter tube folded over but the skinny tires means no rough edges.

My cockring gives me a better flaccid size and helps give you that bulge in your jeans:) and the best part it was free. Enjoy :)

Thanks for all the tips. Last week I went back to the sex shop and bought a 1.5" hard rubber ring ($2.99) just as you now suggested. I have tried to get it on but wasn't successful the night I tried it. My technique is similar to what you recommended; however, I wasn't pulling through part of the scrotum first. I insert one ball, then push the other through. That is the sticking point; my larger left nut seems to be much larger than the 1.5" opening. I'll be doing my package grooming routine tomorrow (scrotum shave and pubic hair trim) and I'll give it another try with a totally smooth bag.

Prices were listed in Euros; however, there was a handy little currency conversion icon to convert the costs to other currencies. I didn't investigate shipping costs from the Netherlands. Anyway, I checked the sizes of the metal (stainless steel) cock rings. Here's my review of this device:

This device consists of a rubber strap measuring 5.75" long and 1.5" wide. The rubber strap is smooth on the side that wraps around your dick and balls and has raised little nubs molded in the rubber on the other side. The rubber strap has a slit cut widthwise in each end to accomodate a 1" wide by 8" long soft cloth band with a loop and velcro connector. The cloth band is on the dick and balls side of the strap. I put on the Big Man's Package Enhancer as I was getting ready for work. The effect was similar to wearing a cock ring around dick and balls, only more pronounced, due to the width of the rubber strap that serves to lift and push everything forward. It was comfortable until I sat in my office chair. I then had to take it off because it was giving me a pinching sensation on my scrotum. Sitting while wearing a rigid cock ring is definitely more comfortable. That being said, this device would work well for activities involving mostly standing. On the subject of package enhancement, I also saw--and bought in-a leather --fetish shop on Market St in SFO near Castro an oval shaped metal cock ring which varies markedly in its width-- (not its wall thickness). Wall is a constant 6 mm. It's also kind of "ergonomically" shaped-- very well thought out indeed. The metal is not identified, and the shop assistant was no help.

A good cheap way to check for size is to go to your local Home Depot or hardware store and buy a selection of O-rings and see which one fits the best. They are only about 10 cents each. Yeah, I don't like wearing them either, but it's a good way to check for size. Make sure you go by the "inside diameter" (ID) *not* the "outside diameter" (OD).

Finally got around to trying Goinfergirth's suggestion of so long ago. I raided my daughters' supply of hair elastics ("Scrunciis") that they use for ponytails in their hair. I chose one that was one continous elastic, rather than the kind with the metal crimp holding the two ends together. I doubled it up and put it on around the base of my shaft. I was also wearing another ring around the base of my entire package--dick and balls. The hair elastic was surprisingly comfortable and gave me a better engorgement than the Mega Stretch Silcone Pleasure Ring that I have been using for the past few months. Wearing the cock ring and hair elastic really got my shaft and especially my head pumped to the max. The real plus, hair elastics are easily accessible and low in cost.

I bought one of these at Walgrens awhile back. I've done some limited testing wearing the wrist strap. I found it to be much more comfortable than the "Big Man's Package Enhancer (TM)" discussed above in Part 8. The only problem I encountered during my limited testing was that one of my testicles (the smaller one) tended to slip out of the strap over time. I didn't wear it enough to test its magnetic properties. I paid $9.95 for the Howmedics Thera P Magnetic Therapy Wrist Strap.

There were two Super Magic Fun Rings in the box in a sealed plastic bag. The rings are light purple in color and look very similar to the Mega Stretch Silicone Pleasure Rings, except that one of the rings is smaller in diameter. The two rings have an inside diameter (unstretched) of 3/8" and 1/2" respectively.

I am using the smaller ring around the base of my dick when doing my post-workout cock ring routine. The Super Magic Fun Ring is much softer and much more comfortable on tender dick skin than the ponytail elastic I was using previously. The smaller ring provides enough compression to get me really pumped, especially when used in conjunction with a rigid rubber ring or metal ring around my dick and balls. Along with the Teardrop Cock Ring, I purchased another unique cock ring from JT's Stockroom. Here is a link to their webpage with a picture the Chrome Triple Rings cockring:

This ring consists of three chrome rings welded together such that one ring encircles dick and balls in the traditional cock ring wearing position, another ring encircles the balls underneath the penis, and a third ring encircles the base of the penis shaft.

I had been wearing a similar set-up using individual cock rings; however, the lure of having a one-piece unit to do this was irresistible. I liked the idea of putting cock, cock and balls, and balls in a steel cage.

Putting on the Chrome Triple Rings proved to be a task worthy of Harry Houdini or David Copperfield. It takes me a good 20 to 30 minutes to put the thing on. Having the three rings welded together makes the task much more difficult; however, with a lot of patience it can be done.

Unless you have aspirations to be a sexual David Copperfield or love puzzles and similar challenges, I recommend that you steer clear of the chrome triple rings. Although mentioned previously in this thread, I wanted to talk about several new aluminum "Pleasure Rings" that I recently purchased from JT's Stockroom.
