what is the best and safest method (product) to remove hair from around the base of the penis and stragglers on the shaft? Does hair removal promote further growth?

Most people shave and/or use tweezers to remove the hair around the base. I'm not sure it actually helps with growth, but it does make it easier to jelq because the hairs don't get pulled.

oh, sorry,

I guess I should have been more clear, I was wondering if tweezing or using something like epil stop would cause further growth of hair in the areas that you remove. Sorry for the confusion but I think my question was answered, thanks.

The way I remove hair is with a depilatory cream. nice and neat and no irritation. I've NEVER been able to put a razor of any kind near my unit. It also eliminates razor bumps for those of us with extra curly pubes.

I am sure many will argue this but this is the simple fact: Shaving, waxing, tweezing, etc. will NOT make hair grow back faster or thicker. It just appears that way. Waxing, and some creams such as nair may damage the hair root after time and make hair growth finer.

i cut my pubic hair with scissors, is this bad? or just normal? will it stop it from growing?

Nothing wrong with cutting your pubic hair with scissors. I use a hair trimmer and set the length to about 2, then shave around the base. Whatever works for you.

Obviously its going to grow back, although I wish that wasn't the case. :)

Averagebear is right...the reason the wives tale came about was because hair that is shaven is cut off at the thick part of the hair...newly grown hair has a taper at the end that makes it look thinner.

Be careful with depilatories!!! I had an EXTREMELY painful encouter with a Nair bottle one time and I only wish such a fate on people who REALLY deserve it! I pluck and use epil-stop.

Try ordering one of the hair removal products from Emjoi.com

For some first hand advice- shaving is pretty bad down there. I'm careful, but have cut slightly towards the base of my unit.

The WORST is when you're Jelqing and you have the hair beginning to grow back but it hasn't surfaced the skin yet- it's a very sharp shocking pain and it startles you if you're jelqing. You almost think you've damaged a nerve or something. Good Luck

I tried the shaving routine...it can get pretty brutal - especially if you sweat a lot - exercise frequently...razor burrn & knicks caused a massive onset of jock itch (which doesn't mix well with razor burns at all) & ingrown hairs. Nair or veet & tweezing off the shaft seems to work best for me.

Shaving left me miserable for a couple weeks :(

I trimmed a little round the tree with scisors, i got a little over zealous and nicked my sack. I dont think i need to say this but BE CAREFUL..........

The worst part of the shaving is the first time. it's not bad if you shave on the same schedule that you shave your face. Just be gentle and careful.
