Here's the story:
I can't even remember how long ago it happened...maybe 2 years ago?
Perhaps longer or perhaps less.
I was dealing with a typical situation of a certain girl that I wanted to be with, but I just wasn't her "type" and so I reached out to the people on this (well, the old old version of this) board for some advice on what I could do about it. It seemed like it struck a chord with everyone because they all had similar situations and tons of useful advice which gave me the idea to start a thread that had nothing to do with PE, but instead was a place where guys could just get together and help each other out.
The focus at the time was with relationships, sexual positions, et cetera...but it grew into more obscure things that I can't even remember now, but I know they were Ca-Ray-Zee!!!
Anyway, this started out as a thread, just like the one I'm writing now and I called it "The_Lab", because the idea was kind of like a labratory. Where everyone could throw something into the pot and see what kind of formula we got.
One of the other ideas I wanted to share with the board was one of change. Changing yourself in a positive way to be able to have enough self-confidence (or whatever you needed) to be able to get that girl who thought you weren't her "type", or whatever problem you were having at the time.
I wanted it to be a place that you could grow as a human being in, and learn new things, new ways of looking at life.
I wanted it to be a place that just about ANYTHING could happen in.
And before I knew it, the idea grew from a simple thread into it's own section on the boards.
It was originally called The_Lab I believe, that's what I named the thread anyway. I can't remember if that was the name when it became it's own section or not.
Pretty soon, it had as many pages as the main board (General Discussion) did, sometimes growing far past 30 pages, which was quite alot for something that had nothing to do with the main topic at hand...PE.
And it stayed pretty popular (I guess) for quite awhile and the fact that I started it up is what made my name attached to it. I believe one of the main mods at the time (BiB, I think) was the one who suggested naming it after me. I took that as a great honor and something I really cherished. Sometime later, I had to go away for business for about 3 weeks, and if I'm not mistaken this was when the boards moved from it's old place on the 'net to the old pub.ezboard address that some of you might know of. The board previous to this one, I think. So things got all jumbled and scrambled and messed up, and The_Lab had it's name changed to 'Tha Playa's Club' because I wasn't around to have my say in it. Someone suggested it and everyone voted on it. I know there's a whole other back story to this, but I honestly can't remember all of the details about it. I know that some people were fighting to keep it the same and somehow it just got renamed anyway.
When I got back, I was pissed off about that, because first off, I can't stand the word 'playa', not only for it's grammatical error but also for its definition and a player's club isn't even what my original thread was about. Well, the name was changed back to 'Thorne's Lab', but the link was still called 'playas club'.
Throughout this whole thing was someone named 'JizzBumper' who later became known as 'BigNillaJizz 25' (you can see his name on page 3 of Thorne's Lab). At first, he seemed like a new addition to the board, offering information and other things so somehow he became a moderator and during the time I was away on business he became a co-administrator. He was all about the 'alpha-male', 'I'm better than you', 'I'm the ultimate playa' attitude, which later on became an obvious facade. So I figured he was probably on the helping end of changing my forum into a wanna-be player's club, and how he became a co-admin before me...I couldn't understand it. I was with this board for a LONG time, back when Tom Hubbard was actually running it and here this guy was with it for only a couple months at the most....
Well, within a day or so I became a co-admin as well. Nilla said it was because of him, but the main admin at the time said it had nothing to do with Nilla at all. During all of this, trolls were constantly invading our board, stealing people's usernames, stealing their passwords, stealing everything and one day they completely trashed the forums, renamed everything, deleted all posts...completely screwed everything up. This actually happened twice, I believe. Well, the last time they screwed up and forgot to erase their IP from the admin logs and the fact that they only allowed certain people to remain members. See, in addition to deleting posts, they also deleted users' memberships, except a select few.
So once the original admins got control over the boards again they saw the trolls' mistakes and tried to get ezboard involved, but ezboard did nothing. Thru tracking IP's and user information and other means, I was able to find out that one of the trolls was a member. When we released this info, Nilla said he knew who it was long before I did and that I really contribute nothing to this board when in fact, I was the one working my ass off trying to figure out who the troll was while talking to Nilla on AOL...during which, he was 'macking' on an old "woman" over the internet and he ended up missing work the next day because of it.
So his outburst and the fact that his behavior was completely changing and he began sounding EXACTLY like the troll on our boards and on another board, I can't remember the site right now, but some of the older members might. I began investigating his IP and found some starting evidence that showed he was the one who deleted posts, stole peoples usernames, passwords, etc...because he had the power to do so, since he was a co-administrator and had access to all of that information.
Well, to try to make a long story short, he denied it up until the end and after countless 'bootings' he continued to show up in here saying I was the one who did it, when in fact everything he was using as evidence was a complete lie and a joke. And finally he left because he realized (I hope) that he couldn't beat me.
So after all of that and after being with the board for 3 or 4 years I guess, I took a long long needed break and started focusing on my job outside of these boards and in my real life. In the many months that I've been MIA, I was on the road ALOT, I moved around a few times, got pretty ill and several other things happened to me, but now things are starting to be a bit better for me. It wasn't until November of last year that I really started getting any time to myself and I finally found this board again around April of this year I think. I haven't posted on it because .... well, I don't know what the reason is to be quite honest. Perhaps because I just felt like I had nothing new to contribute and I only recognize a few of the names on here now. It seems that everyone I once knew has gone their own way as well, which is great.
It happened quite alot in the old days. When people would reach their goal gains, they would move on and occassionally come back every few months.
Anyway, that's the reason why it's called Thorne's Lab...if I explained it all. Sometimes I ramble on and on and forget to give the answer, but I know it's in there somewhere.
In closing, I'd like to thank Mistered for keeping this forum (and the 'original' name of it) alive and I hope that you can keep the spirit alive by knowing what my original intention of The_Lab was supposed to be. A place of personal growth and change and helpful info, seduction tips and so on. I wanted it to be a place where you could talk about anything, because back in the day that's what I used to do on here (sometimes it would piss people off), but I love the First Amendment and I use it everyday. *grin*
I really do appreciate the work and time and creative/fun posts that Mistered has put into this forum, and I'm glad to know that it hasn't just disappeared even after all this time. To the powers that be that have kept it here for this long, thanks a million.
And also to Mistered, thanks for the letter and letting me know.
You know what I mean.
I don't know if I'll become as integrated into this as I once was. I have to admit, it feels strange and familiar all at once to be posting on this forum again. Odd to feel like a stranger in something that bears my name and something I created. Perhaps I'll just take on lurker status. You guys seem to have a good grip (no pun intended...okay, maybe a little pun was intended) on how the board is going now.
To some of the other members:
MechaBlue, when you said this reminds you of a mad scientist giggling and taking you out of reality...that was pretty much how it was in it's prime. And that description made me laugh, so thanks for that and you were actually very close to the mark with your description.
BigUli, your post on the "SirJelqAlot" thread by Mistered was a good one. Thanks for saying what you said.
jj, Dino775 & SizeMeister, thanks for remembering me and speaking kindly of me.
SirJelqAlot, I hope I helped in answering your question or at least letting you know I'm a real person.
