View Full Version : Ligament confusion

I must admit that reading PE-posts has made me more than a little confused about the ligs. Some people talk about three ligs, some about two. Others talk about five lig bundles. When it comes to attachment points of the ligs it gets even more confusing. Where does for example the fundiform lig attach on the penis? According to this sketch http://www.thundersplace.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=2291 the fundiform attach slightly to both sides of the at the root, but Iīve read quite a few posts that seem to imply that this lig connects somewhere midlength on the top side of the shaft. Some talk about this lig going all the way to the head.

A little consensus on these matters would be nice.

Take care,
sizemoore (confused, maybe stupid too)

Me too. I'd LOVE to see a do all end all tutorial on EXACTLY what and where the ligs are. Bib?

Sizemoore, any chance you can imbed that drawing over here for those of us who are not registered at Thunder's and can't view the link?

Well I can't upload it again, because according to the forum ******** its already attached to this thread. I guess it needs release? Can't you release it.

If you want to PM me your details I'll PM them to thunder. That goes for anyone having trouble with thunders. He's normaly very good at sorting out these kinds of problems.

The alternative is to mail thunder (thunderss1@cox.net) directly.

Oh its been released now.

Thanks memento, pm sent. I suppose I coulda released the attachement, if I pulled my head out of my ass... :)

Am I the only one who assumed the ligs ran the entire length of the penis and attached somewhere close to the head? According to that drawing, they appear to only connect to the prick around the base area...

If that's the case, how and why do ligs regulate length gains?

RB,
sorry for posting that members-only link that some of you guys couldnīt view. Youīve seen the picture by now, right?

Anyway, you are not the only one that had pictured the ligs running the entire length of the penis - I thought so too. Now I really donīt know what to think of it. According to that pic at Thunderīs and this picture http://www.bartleby.com/107/illus1156.html , it seems like we were wrong. On the other hand, thereīs plenty of posts implying that the nature of the ligs are a bit different from these anatomy pictures so I really donīt know what to belive.

I really would like to have these things sorted out, once and for all:

1. How and where inside the body AND on the penis does the suspensory lig connect?
2. How and where inside the body AND on the penis does the fundiform lig connect?
3. Are these the only ligs? What about "bundles"?

I know parts of these questions can be answered by the pictured mentioned, but as I said, there seems to be lack of consensus on this issue - even these two pictures canīt seem to fully agree - which makes me hesitant to take any of these diagrams as the final truth.

memento,
thanks for fixing my bad.

Take care,

Sorry for the delay.

This subject was discussed a lot on the old forums. Too bad the threads were lost to trolls. Anyway, there are a few reasons for confusion.

First, for the purposes of PE, the terms sometimes used in posts are not the true anatomical terms used in medicine. Second, it appears to be difficult for some guys to palpate the ligs and other internal structures. Third, if they can palpate the internal structures, it is sometimes tough to identify what they are palpating. Fourth is the old "everyone is different". Just as with any other body part, the penis ligs will be infinitely variable. Some will attach in one place, others in another. Pictures and diagrams do not really give a good 3D perception of reality.

The ligs of the penis are for support during an erection. However, they also tend to hold the erection 'in' and 'up'. The significant amount of penis within the body that most guys have is not able to advance out of the body during an erection because of this restraint.

This will probably be a circle fuck, but I think the labels on the first picture is incorrect. I believe the outer lig is the susp lig and the inner lig is the fund lig. For the purposes of discussion, that is the way I will align them. Both sets attach to the tunica of the shaft. When guys talk about five lig bundles, I think they mean that the inner lig splits to each side laterally, and the outer lig splits to each side laterally and then along the shaft lengthwise. However, these could be considered 'major' bundles. Each bundle has many 'sub-bundles'.

For personal examination, probably the easiest way to find the point of attachment of the ligs is to locate the fascia. I can palpate and find some if not all the fascia on my penis. They will be a solid, gristle-like area with a much tougher consistancy that the rest of the shaft. You must be flaccid to feel them. Also, it is easier to find them immediately after an erection. I don't know why.

My furtherest attachment point is about two inches from the glans of the head. It is by far the easiest to find. When hanging, if I placed the hanger more toward the base, the hanger would actually grip this fascia and with weight applied, would go no further. This would place direct stress on the susp ligs without first going through the tunica.

Hard to describe, but the tunica and ligs are linked in more ways than one. They are both made up of tough collagenous material, much like the gristle on a chicken leg (uncooked) hehe. For 'some' length of the shaft, the tunica and ligs combine to resist any and all PE stresses, depending on the angle of the stress.

For example: When the penis is pulled down toward the feet, the ligs on top will take more of the stress than the tunica because they become the limiting factor due to angle. When the penis is pulled toward the head, the tunica takes more of the stress than the top ligs. There are an infinite number of variables concerning applied stresses to these collagenous structures.

Well, that is about everything in my head at this time. Probably more confusing now. Ask questions if you need to be confused some more.

Wow...

Thanks Bib, a great post!

In your experience, is there any definitive way for an individual to find the angle they need to hang/stretch as to best hit the lig(s) that may be holding them back?

For example, my prick exits my body pretty low. What angle would you suggest I concentrate my stretching in and why?

I think its a matter of really feeling your penis and know whats going on (be one with the prick :)

For me, when I stretch straight out I can feel a all around tug at the base, can actually feel all the ligs being pulled at once. This stretch is alright but there is alot of resistance because I'm fighting the entire penis at the same time. When I stretch side to side I can really feel the side ligs getting it. When I stretch down I can REALLY feel the ligs on the top of the penis (I can feel it all the way up to the lower stomach). And when I stretch up I dont get that lig stretch feeling, I can definitely tell that im working more on the tunica than anything else.

So once I was able to really feel what was going on, getting the right angles was no problem, came naturally. Just adjust to the point where I was feeling the most stretch.

Bib,
thanks for a great post! It defenitly cleared up a few things. There are two more things I like to know though:

1. Is the middle front lig the only part that attaches further up the shaft, closer to the head?

2, Where exactly on the penis does the left and right bundles of the two lig types attach? Are all 4 bundles (2+2) attached on the part of the penis that is outside the body or is the fundiform (back) pair attached on the part of the penis that is inside the body?

Take care,

RB,

>In your experience, is there any definitive way for an individual to find the angle they need to hang/stretch as to best hit the lig(s) that may be holding them back?<

Much as Orgazmo said, it is a matter of hitting the dog that barks. After a while, you can tell when an area is played out, or an area that reacts to the stresses. Sometimes when you stretch a body part (leg, abs, whatever), you can really feel the stretch, kind of a good hurt. Other times when you stretch, there is nothing going on. The penis happens to be one of those body parts that can be stretched 180 degrees laterally, and 270 degrees longitudinally affecting a variety of structures.

>For example, my prick exits my body pretty low. What angle would you suggest I concentrate my stretching in and why?<

The one that gives the best feeling because it will probably give the best results.

sizemoore,

>1. Is the middle front lig the only part that attaches further up the shaft, closer to the head? <

It is for me.

>2, Where exactly on the penis does the left and right bundles of the two lig types attach? Are all 4 bundles (2+2) attached on the part of the penis that is outside the body or is the fundiform (back) pair attached on the part of the penis that is inside the body?<

No, I think for most guys, the majority, if not all of the inner lig attaches within the body. I can palpate fascia between the scrotum and anus, and then just in front of the scrotum.
