Save Now???

OK, whenever i go on this site, thunders, or the lpsg i get pop ups from "save now", trying to sell me herbal viagra, penis pills, or all natural penis enlargement. is anyone else getting these, or does anyone know how to get rid of it?

There are no popups here. I suggest downloading "Spybot Search and Destroy" to clean your computer of any "scumware". Do a search for it on http://www.google.com, and download it (it's free).Many people pick up damagind ad-based scripts without even realizing it.

Hey SJA,
It is "spyware" at it's finest... Probabaly downloaded with some "free" stuff from the net. Spyware acts like Comet cursor in that it detects the ******** on your PC and then these advertisers subscribe to load the ads to your machine while you surf. You can remove it in the add/remove section of your control panel to get rid of it.. Look for promulgate and adaware while your at it, chances are you have those too.

I downloaded adaware and internet sweeper for free and use them faithfully, since then I have much less popup activity.

it finds it, and gets rid of it... temporarily, but then it comes back, i cant be bothered to get rid of it for the moment. but it will be gone soon enough. its a bit unnerving to know that i have all these programmes on my computer that i didnt know existed,

If you're visiting any site by xupiter.com and the like, you'll keep getting the scum scripts. The spyware won't stop you from getting scripted, but they'll delete the scripts for you. I downloaded Spybot-Search & Destroy free, and I was amazed at the amount of crap that I had on my PC!

Big Al is right but there is only one problem :)
If the program you got the Savenow from is still on your PC it will still pop up after you delete the crap!! You need to look at when it pops up, yes xupiter can reload it and a host of other programs. Gator is the worst one for the savenow and if you don't delete that one then the savenow and adsave and another i can't think of right now will keep coming back. Get the spybot and clean it up!!

Spybot is the best program for destroying this crap. Hell, while most other programs delete Alexa features from your IE, it juts replaces a file to make it less intrusive.
