Q. I have a few questions about setting up a hanging routine using the
advanced hanging for repetitions method:

1) How many sets would you recommend per session or day?

Big Al: Start with one set of 50 reps.

2) How many days per week should I train?

Big Al: If all you're going to do is hang, I would suggest that you start at 3 days a week. You should still include some form of regular stamina work too. Don't forget to warm up thoroughly and to hang light for 5-10 minutes to fully prepare.

3) Starting at 50 reps, how many reps should I add per workout?

Big Al: Maybe 1-2 or so. If it's very easy, add more reps. When you get to 100, add more weight. Make sure that you get a good stretch on each rep.

4) How many reps should I work up to before I add weight, and how much
weight should I add?

Big Al: See above. I would say add no more than 10% of what you were using; so if you were hanging with 5 lbs before, you'd hang with 5.5 lbs max.

5) How often do you recommend taking a week off?

Big Al: Every 4-6 weeks.

I want to concentrate on just hanging for a while. I have been doing pe
for over a year, and hanging 6 months. Thanks for your help.

Big Al: You're welcome :) Please keep us posted as to how your workouts are coming along.
