Well I've been doing this for well over a year and have permanently gained 3/4 inch erect length. By permanent I mean I took a break for over 2 months and didn't lose any of it. This isn't an earth shattering gain but it is very noticeable and I did it without incident.
With this experience I offer the following advice to those just starting or thinking about starting:
* First of all - read, read, read. Educate yourself to the max before beginning a routine. If you don't, you might injure yourself or simply annoy us with tired questions.
* Start your adventure off right with extensive accurate measurements...
- Achieve your best erection, then while standing up hold your penis straight out, parallel to the ground. Hold a ruler on top of your penis and push it in to the skin at the base of your penis. Throb yourself and see what you've got.
This is your "bone-pressed" measurement. Not everyone will say to throb, but I do. By measuring this way every month you will be comparing your maximum size in a standardized way.
- Again with your best erection, use a flexible tape measure and measure girth at 3 locations: the base, mid-shaft, and at the widest part of the head. You will find this interesting to compare after 6 to 12 months.
- For flacid measurements, measure length and girth several times in a typical day and note the *range*. This will be more meaningful than a snapshot figure of what you measured at one given time. (We all know how much flacid size varies.)
* Understand that PE works, but it takes longer than the average guy is willing to stick with it. Commit to 6 months minimum. I view it as an ongoing endeavor.
* At first, plan on doing jelqs and manual stretching for size, plus kegels for better erections. It is very common for quick gains of a 1/4 inch to come within 1 month. This often occurs because a man's penis might be somewhat atrophied from lack of use. (Think about an old dried up sponge...)
* Expect to get "the spots" when starting out with jelqing and/or manual stretching. Spots result from broken blood vessels and should heal within 2 days. Simply back off until then and use heat of some type to aid in healing. I've had them many times and they have always healed completely.
* Always use a heating pad or equivalent before jelqing or manual stretching. Ligaments and other tissues will stretch easier if warmed up.
* Keep detailed records from the start. Patterns will emerge that you will be able to strategize with. If a routine works, keep at it. If not, change your routine!
* VERY IMPORTANT
Since this will take a long time, make it fun. Learn to multi-task while doing PE (work at the computer, play paddleball etc...) You have to make the process tolerable or you won't stick with it.
* After a month or 2 of manual stretching, consider hanging. It actually offers a more controlled method which can be custom tailored to your situation. Bib's free hanger designs work great for starters and his new hanger is worth far more than the asking price. Not only is hanging more controlled, it free's up your hands for multi-tasking.
That's all for now, I might add some more later.
Good luck!
