There is a massive post on this forum for jelqing which is really good and i read it when i was a complete newbie. Would we be able to get a similar post about hanging on here? Any advice ideas or tips. I have looked through old posts but not really found anything as substatial as the post on jelqing.

Look for the link to Bib's webpage. Even if you don't buy one of his hangers, the advice he gives is sound. Also, check out Tom Hubbard's site (top of page)

Go to the first page "PE Forums" and then go to "Best Posts." There you will find plenty or information about hanging. Many of them do not have a title which tells you it is about hanging so you have to look through them to find some. There is lots of info in that section. Also, in that area look for the conversations between Phat and I (start from the last page and work forward because they were saved in that order from the board). So look for a thread that was started by Phat to me, or from me to Phat. This was an ongoing conversation where he shared lots of insights and is very helpful. There was more to the conversation, but at least what was saved is there. This should give you some great insights and then if you have questions ask away.

Things you do not want to do when hanging.

Don't hang with an erection or even partial erection.

Don't go higher than 20 minutes on sets.

Stop the set if you feel numbness.

Stop the set if the color of the glans gets too dark in color (dark purple to light grey are bad, pink to medium blue is ok)

Don't hang with a noose type contraption, it comes in direct contact with the nerve bundle behind the head and has a small contact spot to grab from.

Don't hang, with heavy weights (over 10 pounds), with hangers that hide the head from view. (Did that once and had a nasty black spot on the glans for a few days, scary...)

Stop hanging if the glans gets really cold.

Don't skip the warm-up before you start hanging. (10 minutes of heat is best, also between sets too)

Don't jump up more than 1-2 pounds at a time per week when you are moving up in weight during the beginning.

Don't put the hanger on too loose, the weights make a lot of noise when they hit the floor...LOL (done that too).

If you hang and jelq in the same session, don't jelq first, always do all the hang sessions then do the jelqing session (ok to lightly jelq a little between sets to restore circulation).

Don't forget to check the glans every few minutes for color, numbness, and coldness.

Don't forget to lock the nearest door before hanging, can be pretty embarrassing if you get caught.

Don't start a new set if numbness from the previous set has not gone away.

If you have prolonged numbness that lasts a couple of days, don't continue to hang. Take a week off and do very light jelqing 5 minutes or so morning and night. Verrry light jelqing( with a hot wrap before, just like usual).

Don't use small screws to attach a pulley to the bottom of your desk, again it makes a lot of noise when they give way.

Don't forget the different angles that you can hang at, straight down is the best though.

Don't forget to hide the hanger and weights when you're done, pretty tough to explain...I tried the 'new way to workout' routine, doesn't work.

Good Luck and err on the side of caution.

Growing,
Smart idea to post those.

One more think lol. Be careful when talking on the phone not to bang the weights around because they will ask you what you are doing lol. At least come up with some kind of answer ahead of time.

Oh yeah, and if you have to cough or sneeze then lift up the weight or "ouch."

Home made Bib hanger is the best thing you can make. Posted in pefaq link.

Start at about 2.5 pounds and work up from there in 1 pound increments as you feel it getting easy to hang the previous weight.

Be careful and listen to your body.
