Jelqing and oxygen...

When you are jelqing you release your grip at the head about the same time you start a new stroke with your other hand, right? You don't release your grip before beginning the new stroke?

If so, the blood is trapped in the penis during the whole jelqing session (you push around the same blood the whole time) and no fresh blood can enter to give the cells new oxygen.
Am I right and if so, wouldn't that be very destructive to the penis after a while?
Every cell in the body needs oxygen in order to survive, right?

Please let me know your thoughts, because I want to be sure I'm not damaging my most valuable body part in any way.

That was one of my questions at the beginning too. I don't keep the same blood trapped, but release the hand each time. However, the alternating hands are back to back and there is as little delay as possible. It is a constant motion. Seems like you want to blood to be flowing in and out and flexing the pc occasionally to keep things moving. You still get the expansion from the jelq. Plus if you are jelqing for long periods of time too much pressure will cause injury.

I think I'm gonna do them the safe way, without trapping blood, in the beginning.

Then after a while I will go for the super jelqs too, where you work with the same blood (placing one hand at the base as a clamp, jelqing with the other) for about 10 strokes, then release the clamp and do a kegel to let new blood in and repeat.
This sounds pretty safe to me because of the shot of fresh blood after 10 strokes.
I find it rather impossible for an injury to occur due to lack of oxygen during such a short time.

While your hand is moving towards the glans, it has trapped blood in front of it and fresh blood behind it. And when the 'new' hand starts at the base it now has fresh blood and trapped blood in front of it. I fail to see how there is never fresh oxygen getting to your member during jelqing.

when my penis fills up with a little too much blood while jelqing, i usually grab the head and push some blood down the shaft which seems to do the trick
