Ok... how hard do you have to be when jelking?

I have tried this a couple of time and I find it pretty hard to stay somewhat erect for very long. Mostly when I do this, I am not that hard at all. I read the faq section at geocities and it said that if you are under 50% erect, then the jelking is working on the length of your penis. And that if you are over 50%, you are working the thickness of your penis. Is that true?

The only thing known for sure is that if you jelq while fully erect you are risking vascular damage as you are compressing the veins against the hardened shaft.

I personally think it is OK to jelq while flacid, provided you use a hot wrap on your penis for about 5 or 10 minutes before jelqing and start out slowly. I have had good results with this method in both length and girth.

I thought it was pretty tough to try to maintain a semi erection without going one way or the other. I mean, you are either going to get hard or you are going to get soft depending on what you are thinking about.
